She is “a perfect mash-up of our two worlds… our New England roots and our Texas home,” shared Hannah Garbo, Event Coordinator and Social Media Director at Garbo’s, speaking on behalf of the sister-run team. The lobster anchors the brand, while the cowgirl brings “that fun, bold, slightly cheeky Austin spirit.”
Customers love showing their support for their favorite lobster rolls by wearing the cowgirl with pride. “It honestly makes us so happy,” Hannah said. “It means people connect with Garbo’s beyond just the food. They’re proud to represent us.”
The cowgirl has become both a conversation starter and a traveler. Garbo’s sees their tees and totes show up on social feeds, on trips, and in everyday life, often far from Austin. That kind of visibility is what turns custom restaurant merch into something personal and lasting.
There is one piece that still stands out. “We’ll always have a soft spot for the original cowgirl tee,” Hannah shared. “It was our first design that really felt ‘us,’ and it’s timeless.”
